April 07, 2011 | 04:17 AM

Robb Thompson Ministries, a non-profit organization of Family Harvest Church, hosted the fundraiser Dancing for the Stars on March 18 to raise money for its global missions.

More than 400 people attended the event at Georgios Banquets, and helped raise $25,000. in Orland Park.

Robb Thompson Ministries is planning two medical/dental trips this year, one to the Petén Jungle in Guatemala and one to Haiti where free exams and treatment are given to the children, orphans and adults. A portion of the proceeds will also be given to help with the relief work in Japan and other projects in the United States.

The event also offered a silent auction, photo booth, and a dance competition where eight amateurs were paired up with a professional dancer and after 10 lessons competed in the event. The dancers were raising funds for children and orphans around the world who need food, shelter, and medical attention.
