When it comes to fire, every second can make a difference.

That message became the primary focus at the Tinley Park Fire Department and Tinley Park Fire Protection Bureau’s open house held Saturday, Oct. 7, which ultimately marked the start of Fire Prevention Week.

Appropriately themed “Every second counts: Plan two ways out,” the departments worked to educate area residents with fire prevention methods and their role in the community.
