Michelle Emebo didn’t know if the American Heart Association was for her. The Tinley Park resident had struggled with hypertension — abnormally high blood pressure — during and after her pregnancy and wanted to help other women like her but thought the AHA was mostly focused on stroke and transplant survivors.
