Both Andrew and Tinley Park High School are enjoying successful volleyball campaigns this season, so it was almost poetic justice that the two schools would battle in the championship game of the one-day, eight-team 42nd TPHS Tournament on Saturday, Oct. 5.

But even poets run into trouble from time-to-time and when TPHS dropped a first-set match to Stagg and Andrew was stunned in the first set by St. Laurence in pool play, work had to be done. Both teams recovered for three-set wins and won their other two pool matches in two to set up the finale.
