“The Ironman in Hawaii is an iconic race like the Boston or Chicago marathons or the Tour de France. And, you just can’t enter. You have to qualify at another Ironman competition,” said Higgins, who qualified in the Mont-Tremblant Ironman in Quebec, Canada, just eight weeks prior.
